Commissioning Manager – High Voltage Substations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Accountable for testing and executing commissioning activities for mid- to large-scale high voltage substation projects.

• Lead commissioning efforts with a global team of commissioning engineers throughout various project stages, from commissioning preparation to on-site execution.

• Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities are scheduled and conducted in accordance with safety protocols, quality standards, and relevant regulations.

• Establish and enhance the commissioning organization for projects under your jurisdiction, including the creation of organizational charts and mobilization plans for staff and equipment.

• Coordinate with the design office and project management team to ensure timely delivery of necessary data for preparation of commissioning site work (specifications, designs, BOQ, material lists).

• Develop the commissioning schedule in coordination with the consortium partner for platform manufacturing.

• Prepare commissioning documentation such as ITPs and checklists, and implement a completion management system alongside your commissioning team.

• Collaborate with your commissioning team during factory acceptance tests to verify that systems delivered to the site meet quality standards.

• Maintain effective communication regarding commissioning scope with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact.

• Work together with the project team on quality, claims, and risk management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a related field.

• Knowledge and several years of experience in the commissioning of substations, power plants, or complex industrial electrical systems.

• Proficient in both English and German. Additional language skills are advantageous.

• Willingness to travel internationally and work at construction sites, with optional assignments on offshore platforms.
