This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
⢠Engage in discussions with the owner, operations and maintenance teams, design, and construction personnel to grasp project objectives and timelines, ensuring effective coordination of commissioning tasks.
⢠Support the Commissioning Manager in developing commissioning plans, specifications, checklists, and functional test documentation in accordance with both client and company standards.
⢠Analyze project documents and initial designs to pinpoint gaps in scope and responsibility, ensuring project success. This necessitates a thorough comprehension of engineering, construction, and permitting concepts.
⢠Oversee executional commissioning activities, which entails understanding and managing the scope, stakeholders, and schedule while keeping all parties aligned.
⢠Communicate with internal stakeholders (commissioning manager, project manager, construction manager) and external parties (utilities, AHJs, contractors, end customers) to ensure ongoing communication.
⢠Supervise equipment suppliers and conduct daily plan of day (POD) meetings with each supplier to monitor progress and schedule their tasks.
⢠Review equipment Factory Acceptance Test procedures and their corresponding reports.
⢠Conduct site visits to align commissioning plans, schedules, and checklists, ensuring all commissioning tasks and performance tests are carried out effectively.
⢠Inspect construction work and assist in resolving technical issues related to installation and commissioning.
⢠Propose enhancements to the commissioning execution plan or procedures/processes based on insights gained from previous experiences.
⢠Aid in coordinating and training operations and maintenance personnel to sustain commissioned systems and facilitate a continuous commissioning program.
⢠Cultivate and maintain key strategic relationships with major vendors, suppliers, and contractors across the energy storage sector.
⢠Contribute to value-engineering and process improvement initiatives by sharing specific lessons learned from projects.
⢠Bachelorās degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience/practical knowledge.
⢠5-10 years of relevant experience in commissioning and/or systems engineering within an Energy Storage integrator or EPC contractor.
⢠Direct experience with battery storage systems, medium voltage stations, and/or related products/systems.
⢠Proficient in the specification, technical bid analysis, and procurement of major equipment such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, etc.
⢠Skilled in SCADA systems and relevant communication protocols.
⢠Must possess a solid understanding of commissioning and testing for Energy Storage projects.
⢠Practical hands-on experience in system engineering along with a strong grasp of related regulatory standards, including local code compliance.
⢠A proactive professional with a positive attitudeāsetting ambitious, measurable goals and prepared to be assessed against them.
⢠A dynamic individual capable of positively interacting and collaborating with a diverse group of individuals at all levels and disciplines, able to engage with key clients, think quickly, and make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
⢠An excellent time manager, skilled at juggling multiple projects and prioritizing a wide range of issues, initiatives, and objectives concurrently.
⢠Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally with staff, management, clients, suppliers, community partners, and external stakeholders.
