This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Collaborate directly with the Head of PBI to formulate the annual commercial strategy and aid in the development of the 3-year payments infrastructure roadmap.
• Convert the strategic vision from the Head of PBI into organized, actionable plans with defined milestones and accountable parties.
• Actively pinpoint shortcomings in ACE's payments infrastructure by engaging collaboratively with Partner Success, Partner Onboarding, Operations, Finance, and other teams.
• Propose commercial solutions rather than merely highlighting issues, including implementation pathways and business rationale.
• Manage the commercial narrative for the PBI function, contributing to the monthly CEO Brief and quarterly commercial evaluations.
• Identify, approach, and assess new payments partners, including card acquirers, APM providers, open banking rails, FX counterparties, and banking partners.
• Participate in all commercial negotiations, from initial contact and terms negotiation to final agreement before handing over to PO.
• Create and sustain a dynamic pipeline of potential partners, complete with commercial evaluations and prioritization criteria.
• Develop business cases for onboarding new partners, including cost modeling, volume forecasts, and break-even analyses for Head of PBI approval.
• Oversee the renegotiation process for existing partners, tracking contract renewal dates, rate review periods, and opportunities for volume-based tier unlocks.
• Attend Quarterly Business Reviews and significant partner strategy meetings in partnership with the Head of PBI.
• 3-5 years of experience in a commercial, partnerships, or business development capacity within the payments, fintech, or financial services sectors.
• Demonstrated success in leading commercial negotiations with card acquirers, payment processors, banks, or FX counterparties.
• Strong knowledge of payment economics, including MDR structures, interchange fees, scheme fees, FX spreads, and open banking pricing.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with operations, technology, and compliance teams to structure and finalize commercial agreements.
• Capability to independently construct comprehensive business cases and commercial models without relying on a finance team.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting commercial analyses and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple negotiation processes concurrently without overlooking details.
• Five (5) days of work - Saturday & Sunday OFF (All ACE Money Transfer offices across the globe).
