• Collaborates closely with the Business Development and Sales Teams to secure new opportunities.
• Develops contracts and a commercial strategy for significant bids and agreements.
• Takes the lead in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial terms and conditions on intricate agreements with key clients to fulfill the Business Strategy, including negotiating flow-down terms to essential suppliers.
• Ensures that Curtiss-Wright's interests are upheld and safeguarded by adhering to all company policies, relevant laws, regulatory, and customer requirements while aligning with corporate business objectives.
• Oversees a team of experts and senior managers responsible for the successful operation of the designated areas.
• Offers contractual, negotiation, and commercial business guidance to business unit leaders, sales and marketing personnel, program managers, and senior management.
• Facilitates career development and training opportunities for contracts professionals and the broader business.
• Engages in the formation of business alliances, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Comprehends the business case and possesses an understanding of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications.
• Advises the business on contract variations, claims, and other disputes.
• Establishes post-award contracts strategy for complex agreements.
• Negotiates contract variations and resolves claims, which can significantly affect business performance.
• Communicates internally and externally with executive-level management, necessitating the negotiation of highly critical matters.
• Provides expert contractual/legal/compliance advice on various issues (including supply chain, HR, management, etc.) and contributes valuable insights into the Strategic Planning Process.
• Background in contract law coupled with management experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, including diplomacy and collaboration.
• Capacity to maintain robust working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Superior negotiation capabilities, with a proven success record in international contracting and the negotiation of complex contracts tailored to meet corporate objectives.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office.
• Extensive experience in contract management and dispute resolution.
• Capable of drafting and negotiating high-value, complex claims, variations, and commercial disputes on a global scale.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage strategic, operational, and tactical responsibilities in a hands-on culture focused on achieving results.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in the development and implementation of metrics and measurements to assess results and promote continuous improvement.
• Outstanding leadership abilities within a matrix structure.
• Customer-focused (both internal and external) and results-oriented.
