This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and assist with the allocation of workload and evaluation of new opportunities alongside the Commercial Director.
• Aid the assigned team by managing tenders to fulfill regional requirements.
• Serve as a resource for junior colleagues, clarifying complex or sensitive information.
• Foster consensus and utilize persuasive skills to influence others.
• Share effective practices and propose training subjects for the team.
• Assist in strategizing for new and renegotiated MMP contracts with ITR members.
• Provide leadership throughout the deal review procedure, including obtaining necessary approvals.
• Track team members’ KPIs, follow up, and devise improvement plans with the Commercial Director.
• Contribute insights on team members during evaluations and annual performance reviews.
• Manage all elements of the inquiry-to-order proposal/bid management phase.
• Direct proposal creation, risk management and mitigation, contract negotiations, compliance with specifications, scope development, pricing/financial summaries, and issue resolution for assigned proposals.
• Ensure that technical and business risks, along with mitigation and acceptance criteria, are integrated into scope, cost, and contract language.
• Verify that terms and conditions are reviewed, and related risk checklists are completed and approved.
• Take ownership of financial summaries for each opportunity, including price/cost breakdowns, contribution margins, cash flow, and tax compliance.
• Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, contract negotiations, and project handoff through the ITO-to-OTR process.
• Present deals for approval and enforce rigor and compliance in the commercial process.
• Involve key stakeholders during the ITO phase.
• Connect ITO activities with finance, engineering, and product lines; facilitate pricing discussions and develop deal structures and risk mitigation strategies.
• Drive contract negotiations with clients.
• Report to the Power Services Gas Commercial Director.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, ideally in a Business or Engineering field.
• Minimum of 10 years of sales/commercial experience in the power generation sector.
• Over 5 years of leadership experience in Commercial Operations or a related field within the energy services sector.
• Technical proficiency in Gas Plant Technology.
• Experience in managing complex projects and bids.
• Strong background in intricate projects and Multi-Year Agreements related to Gas Turbine Technology and power plant integration initiatives.
• Demonstrated expertise in opportunity management/bid management and proposal handling.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to perform effectively in a matrix management structure.
• Sound knowledge of commercial processes, gathering bid information, and drafting bid/proposal documents from scratch.
• Capability to engage and communicate with customers to introduce and negotiate opportunities to successful closure.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Skill in structuring innovative deals, negotiating contracts, and effectively engaging with diverse clients.
• Business and financial insight combined with strategic thinking.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
• Experience with customer specification assessments, Terms & Conditions, public procurement regulations, proposal development, and leading sales initiatives.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
