This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop, showcase, and prototype gameplay concepts for core and moment-to-moment combat mechanics and systems, including combat characters, their sensations, behaviors, abilities, and encounters in various contexts.
• Create melee-oriented combat characters featuring animations and behaviors by utilizing state machines, behavior trees, visual effects, sound effects, arena configurations, and pacing with the available level design tools and diverse scripting systems.
• Generate design documents, content briefs, system descriptions, and other materials to convey all necessary information to relevant teams.
• Work collaboratively across multiple disciplines, ensuring that the appropriate partners are engaged and up-to-date throughout the development process.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, including new game genres, innovative design methods and techniques, and the latest advancements in audio-visual quality.
• Operate with a significant level of autonomy and initiative, contributing to the establishment of the combat design team's objectives.
• Proven experience in game design with a focus on combat mechanics.
• Strong knowledge of animation systems and character behaviors.
• Proficiency in design documentation and communication with cross-functional teams.
