This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Respond to student text messages received via our texting platform, Mainstay, within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Daily check of the Mainstay messaging platform for at least one hour to ensure all messages are acknowledged and responded to.
• Deliver engaging and quality support to students, offering advice, resources, and encouragement on topics such as preparing for the school year, enrolling in fall classes, consulting with their guidance counselor or academic advisor, accessing academic and campus resources, maintaining a school-work-life balance, and overcoming various challenges.
• Provide a college perspective by sharing relevant experiences from your time as a college student to assist students in their own journeys.
• Distribute pertinent tip sheets from the LGR curriculum and guide students on effectively utilizing available school resources.
• Foster a warm rapport with students and inquire with follow-up questions to enhance program engagement and support their college matriculation and persistence.
• Innovatively build relationships with a designated group of students through personalized text messages and emails that include additional resources.
• Timely completion of virtual learning modules (LGR360).
• Conduct mandatory monthly check-in calls via phone or video to provide further assistance with the college access process.
• Document communication with mentees using our Salesforce data platform.
• Gather student information to share with LGR to ensure they remain on track.
• Attend weekly supervision meetings with the Program Manager to discuss progress towards set goals.
• Participate in mandatory monthly coach meetings focused on professional development.
• Must currently be an undergraduate student or have graduated within the last 1–2 years.
• Highly comfortable building rapport virtually through phone calls, emails, text messages, and live video streams.
• Possess exceptional relationship-building skills across diverse personalities and identities, effectively communicating with warmth and empathy.
• Strong time management, attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of navigating various new technology platforms.
• Balance a results-driven work ethic with a personable approach.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a virtual setting.
• Must commit to the position for the entire academic year, including summer employment (from August 2026 through August 2027).
• Flexibility will be provided for school breaks and personal time off.
