This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Under the guidance and oversight of the Director of College Admissions Counseling, the College Admissions Counselor will:
• Support both middle and high school students throughout the entire college admissions journey;
• Effectively manage time to accommodate a specified caseload of students, which may vary annually based on organizational needs and counselor availability;
• Collaborate as part of a dual-member team that includes College Admissions Coaches and other counselors, depending on the program;
• Engage with prospective clients through virtual video meetings or phone calls to discuss program options, onboard families, and assist in managing deadlines and program expectations, as applicable;
• Guide families through high-pressure situations;
• Conduct college admissions-focused webinars, social media events, and support other marketing initiatives as time permits;
• Contribute to the execution of institutional programming as needed and as time allows;
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a higher-level degree is preferred.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in undergraduate admissions at a selective college or university is required; experience in high school or independent counseling is also preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the college admissions and application process, with a commitment to staying current in the field of college admissions and counseling.
• A personable individual who can make others feel comfortable, is engaging, adaptable, and naturally collaborative.
• Outstanding writing skills, with a solid understanding of college essay editing.
• Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
• Strong attention to detail, accompanied by robust organizational skills.
• Proficiency in utilizing web-based tools to provide student advisement.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary, especially during the application season from August through December.
