Collector I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage with account holders concerning the repayment of their overdue student loans.

• Assess borrowers and gather their financial details.

• Update demographic and financial data during each call.

• Negotiate payment plans.

• Refer accounts for legal action when necessary.

• Conduct Skip Tracing.

• Utilize skip-tracing tools effectively.

• Communicate efficiently with third parties.

• Ensure all accounts are managed in accordance with client standards and Federal Regulations.

• Keep clear, concise, and precise documentation of all interactions made and received for accounts in line with company policies.

• Pursue ongoing education and training in industry-related career development.

• Stay updated and comply with all federal and state regulations governing collections, including FDCPA, Privacy Act, FCRA, etc.

• Participate in training sessions.

• Implement information gained from training sessions and policy updates into daily practices promptly.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• Relevant progressive work experience.

• Experience in a third-party collection environment preferred.

• Proficiency with PCs in a Windows environment.

• Basic keyboarding abilities.

• Previous experience in sales or customer service is preferred.

• ACA certification.

• Understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
