Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Reach out to customers with overdue accounts to obtain payment and address outstanding balances

• Negotiate payment plans and secure payments

• Deliver professional and courteous customer service while handling sensitive financial discussions

• Accurately record account activity in the company's computer systems

• Adhere to company policies and relevant first-party collections regulations

• Identify customer concerns and suggest suitable payment options

• Monitor accounts to ensure timely follow-ups and payment resolutions

• Achieve or surpass call volume, collection, and quality metrics

• Collect a minimum of $5,000 in payments each week

• Conduct over 110 outbound and/or inbound calls daily regarding overdue accounts

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to enhance collection performance

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required

• 1–2 years of experience in collections and/or sales

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities

• Demonstrated capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume call setting

• Advanced computer proficiency and experience with CRM or collections software are essential

• Capacity to maintain professionalism and empathy during challenging conversations

• Skill in negotiating and persuading customers

• Proven ability to operate in a performance-oriented environment with measurable call and cash collection objectives

• High-speed internet connection is necessary

• Availability to work one Saturday morning each month

• Must be available for either the Monday–Friday late shift (10:30 AM–7:00 PM ET) or early shift (8:00 AM–4:30 PM ET), plus one Saturday monthly (9:00 AM–1:00 PM ET)
