This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Oversee designated accounts, ensuring timely and precise billing, collections, and payment processes.
• Confirm that a claim is properly filed.
• Follow up with payers regarding overdue payments.
• Investigate any claim denials.
• Collaborate with billers to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Work alongside funding consultants to clarify documentation inquiries.
• Prepare correspondence, including appeals, to advocate for account payments.
• Review posted payments for accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.
• Document all verbal and written communications related to collection efforts and anticipated outcomes for overdue accounts in the system.
• Follow up every 30 days with insurance companies, clients, SPLs, and vendors to facilitate account payments.
• Notify the Manager of Collections about potential payment challenges.
• Suggest adjustments or write-offs to the Manager of Collections and obtain approval before reconciling accounts.
• Investigate refund requests for accounts and complete the necessary paperwork for refunds.
• Meet productivity and cash target expectations as established by management.
• Stay informed about state, federal, and third-party funding regulations concerning assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with billing and payment practices.
• Carry out various additional tasks as assigned.
• High School Diploma.
• At least 2 years of experience in computer operations, accounting, collections, and high-volume medical billing and/or insurance claims processing.
• Preferred knowledge of payment posting processes related to contractual adjustments and refunds.
• Preferred familiarity with medical insurance claims procedures and documentation.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Proficient in M.S. Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Capable of researching claim information online.
• Basic skills in data entry and word processing.
• Ability to apply independent judgment and handle confidential information responsibly.
• Skilled in data gathering and summarization.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
