This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review clinical documentation to accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for services provided.
• Ensure coding precision and adherence to official coding standards as well as specific payer requirements.
• Assist in recognizing coding patterns that may influence revenue or compliance.
• Conduct audits.
• Query healthcare providers when documentation is ambiguous or inadequate for coding purposes.
• Monitor and address denial reports or queues to identify and analyze patterns in denied or rejected claims.
• Investigate root causes of denials, including coding mistakes, missing documentation, or payer-specific issues.
• Submit timely and well-documented appeals or corrections to payers.
• Maintain precise records of denial outcomes and the status of appeals.
• Associate degree in a medical-related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience.
• Certification as CPC, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA.
