This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• This role involves coding for interventional and diagnostic radiology services in both Global and Professional environments.
• The Coding Specialist extracts clinical details from various medical records, charts, and documents, assigning the appropriate ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, MIPS codes, and modifiers to patient records in accordance with established protocols.
• The specialist is knowledgeable about standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field; utilizes limited experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives; performs a range of tasks; and operates under general supervision.
• Typically, this position reports to a supervisor or manager.
• Accurately assign codes to medical procedures.
• Correctly assign and sequence codes in line with coding guidelines and insurance regulations.
• Adhere to medical coding guidelines and policies.
• Identify and rectify any coding errors as they arise.
• Provide coding feedback to the Coding Manager.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in radiology coding.
• One of the following coding certifications is mandatory: CPC, RCC, or CCS.
• Experience or education in medical terminology is required.
• Proficient with computer operating systems, specifically the current version of Windows.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software programs.
• Ability to type accurately and proficiently use a 10-key.
• At least 2 years of experience in coding or managing medical records utilizing ICD and CPT coding systems is required.
• Preferred qualifications include RCCIR or CIRCC coding certificates.
• No travel is required for this position.
