This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the creation of strategic communication and educational plans related to coding.
• Develop communication and educational materials that are specific to coding, competency-based, and operationally focused.
• Design presentations, educational resources, handbooks, and various training materials.
• Facilitate training sessions on the latest medical billing and coding practices.
• Provide mentorship and educational support to physicians and offer feedback to third-party vendors.
• Counsel Physician Group and Revenue Cycle staff on coding and documentation standards.
• Oversee communication and the delivery of coding training through various methods such as instructor-led sessions, train-the-trainer programs, virtual classrooms, webcasting, and web-based approaches.
• Maintain current coding training materials.
• Address and respond to inquiries related to coding.
• Conduct random chart audits.
• Uphold the confidentiality of company and regulated data.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities while adhering to BMC RESPECT behavioral standards.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of formal education and relevant experience.
• Must possess CCS, CCS-P, CPC®, or CPC-H® coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• A minimum of three years of experience in E/M and/or surgical coding along with reimbursement processes.
• A clinical background and prior experience in chart abstraction is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and organizational capabilities.
• Self-motivated with a capacity to make sound, independent decisions.
• Analytical thinking and robust problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines, manage high volumes, and handle multiple interruptions.
• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Proficiency in utilizing various computer hardware and software systems.
• Strong understanding of ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT coding standards, and E&M coding.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment.
