This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Conduct regular coding reviews to verify that health records accurately correspond with billed ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue codes.
• Evaluate the procedures and codes submitted on claims against medical records.
• Analyze claim data to assess the nature and amount of billable services.
• Assess the appropriateness of billing practices and reimbursement processes.
• Record findings for each claim line in a spreadsheet format.
• Compile findings into comprehensive written reports.
• Extract CPT, HCPCS, Revenue Codes, DRG codes, and ICD-10 from medical records.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and pertinent federal and/or state regulations.
• Adhere to the company's Privacy and Security protocols.
• Safeguard confidential health information in compliance with applicable laws.
• Achieve a minimum average of 5–10 claim line reviews per hour.
• Undertake additional tasks as necessary.
• Certified professional coder.
• At least one year of investigative experience is mandatory.
• Required certification includes one of the following: CPC, CCS, or CCA.
• Proficiency in medical terminology.
• Understanding of coding practices, including CPT, HCPCS, Revenue Codes, DRG Codes, and ICD-10.
• Familiarity with specialty medical practices.
• Must possess a keen attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong listening abilities.
• Capability to meet established performance and productivity targets.
• Advanced computer skills are required.
• Ongoing discretion and secure information management when accessing confidential and sensitive data.
• High-speed Internet is essential; satellite connections are not permitted, with a minimum speed of 25mbs download and 5mbs upload.
