• Proficient in handling various electronic medical records.
• Employs EMR Navigation to locate and acquire necessary medical records.
• Engages with external facility personnel with utmost professionalism.
• Inputs data into Excel tracking spreadsheets.
• Utilizes coding platforms as mandated by divisional requirements.
• Generates reports for aging and KPIs for coding leadership as assigned or requested.
• Compiles data worksheets for coding assessments.
• Communicates daily tasks with vendor partners.
• Aids in the upkeep of team playbooks (SOP/Pathways).
• Interacts with and addresses physician coding documentation shortfalls.
• Monitors and records clinician responses to documentation deficiencies and provides feedback to Coding Quality and Education.
• Manages post-operative pain rounding visits.
• Performs entry-level coding following prospective audits.
• Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures, particularly HIPAA and confidentiality.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPC-A, or CPC with limited experience in anesthesia, RHIT eligible or recently credentialed.
• Basic coding experience with a foundational understanding of documentation guidelines.
• Capacity to self-motivate and initiate new projects when opportunities arise.
• Ability to work independently while following the direction of the team lead or supervisor.
• Completes projects within established timelines.
• Intermediate knowledge and working experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Intermediate skills in Outlook.
• Capable of typing 50 words per minute.
• Effective communication skills with all levels of USAP employees and vendors.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Eligible for a quarterly bonus.
