This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• The Regional Manager for CoC (Chain of Custody) overseeing Affiliates in Western Europe and the Americas is accountable for quality assurance during audits, providing technical support to designated affiliates, and executing various tasks necessary for maintaining accreditations.
• Assisting in the growth of the CBE timber and paper certification business (primarily focusing on FSC/PEFC COC certification and timber due diligence services) within the regions of the designated affiliates (Western Europe and Americas).
• Consistently ensure effective communication and collaboration with the Global Forestry Team to explore shared business development opportunities.
• Aiding the Global Technical Manager in the revision of COC procedures and related documentation.
• Guarantee that COC accreditation standards are integrated into SGS procedures and effectively communicated to affiliates and auditors.
• Offer timely technical support and information to assigned SGS affiliates.
• Coordinate the technical evaluation of COC reports to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and facilitate certification decision-making.
• Conduct technical reviews of COC reports if necessary.
• Execute Technical Internal Office Audits (L2) as per the global audit plan.
• Ensure proper upkeep of the FSC Database.
• Manage quality and monitor the performance of SGS delivering affiliates (including KPI management).
• Oversee the FSC Trademark approval service in collaboration with qualified trademark officers.
• Participate in audits by accreditation bodies and address any CARs as directed by the Accreditation Manager(s).
• Follow up on complaints and appeals as instructed by the Accreditation Manager(s).
• Establish and maintain formal initial and ongoing training for COC auditors (including training tools and Academy) in partnership with the Training Manager.
• Tertiary education in Forest Management or Timber Engineering, or secondary education complemented by equivalent professional training and work experience.
• Must possess FSC COC Lead Auditor certification.
• Experience in the timber and/or paper industries is essential.
• Audit and commercial experience related to products, including the preparation of commercial proposals.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong presentation abilities and the capacity to engage effectively with senior government officials and organizational senior management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while also being capable of functioning independently without close supervision.
• Proficiency in the English language, in addition to fluency in the local language, is a plus.
