This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• The CoC (Chain of Custody) Regional Manager for Affiliates in Western Europe and the Americas is tasked with ensuring quality assurance for audits.
• Aiding in the growth of the CBE timber and paper certification business within the regions of the assigned affiliates.
• Guaranteeing effective communication and interaction with the Global Forestry Team.
• Assisting the Global Technical Manager in updating the COC procedures and related documentation.
• Overseeing the technical assessment of COC reports.
• Executing Technical Internal Office Audits in accordance with the global audit plan.
• Managing quality and monitoring the performance of SGS delivering affiliates.
• Participating in accreditation body audits and addressing accreditation body Corrective Action Requests (CARs) as directed by the Accreditation Manager(s).
• Establishing and maintaining formal initial and refresher training sessions for COC auditors.
• Conducting FSC audits as needed when assigned.
• A degree in Forest Management or Timber Engineering, or secondary education accompanied by equivalent professional training and experience.
• Certification as an FSC COC Lead Auditor (mandatory).
• Relevant work experience within the timber and/or paper industries.
• Experience in auditing and commercial activities related to products, including the preparation of commercial proposals.
• Possessing analytical, decisive, adaptable, ethical, problem-solving, persuasive, and commercially-sensitive traits.
• Strong customer and commercial orientation.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English, with developed presentation capabilities and the ability to engage effectively with senior government officials and organizational senior management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while also functioning independently without close supervision.
• Proficiency in the English language, in addition to fluency in the local language, is advantageous.
