
CMS Technical Lead – Forge, OpenText Migration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the technical exploration of the current Forge/OpenText website setup.
• Catalog CMS components, templates, content types, integrations, APIs, and dependencies.
• Identify functionalities linked to Forge/OpenText that require rebuilding, replacement, or decoupling.
• Evaluate target CMS platforms and ascertain their suitability based on architecture, security, customization, integration, operating model, and scalability.
• Establish the target-state architecture and migration strategy.
• Design the CMS content model, component architecture, and integration frameworks.
• Develop a migration plan for content, media, metadata, redirects, and structured data.
• Lead integrations with digital banking, account opening, CRM, product systems, analytics/tag management, search, branch/ATM location services, calculators, marketing automation, personalization, and authentication/SSO systems.
• Define requirements for APIs and middleware.
• Address security, privacy, hosting, environments, deployment, and access control needs.
• Collaborate with credit union architecture and security teams on technical governance.
• Generate estimates and implementation strategies.
• Provide technical guidance to front-end, back-end, and DevOps teams.
• Review code and architecture for quality assurance and maintainability.
• Support cutover, data/content migration, launch, and post-launch stabilization efforts.
• Contribute reusable migration accelerators and technical playbooks for AEQ’s broader Forge offerings.
• Extensive experience with enterprise CMS.
• Ideally, direct migration experience with OpenText.
• Over 10 years in CMS architecture, web engineering, or solution architecture.
• Significant experience in enterprise CMS migrations.
• Experience with OpenText TeamSite / Web Experience Management / related OpenText CMS is highly desirable.
• Strong familiarity with at least one modern enterprise CMS platform.
• Experience with headless/hybrid CMS architecture.
• Strong background in API/integration architecture.
• Understanding of Azure/AWS/cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes.
• Solid knowledge of security and identity fundamentals.
• Experience in banking, credit unions, or regulated industries is preferred.
• Comfortable facilitating technical workshops with architects, CIO/CTO teams, and vendors.
• Experience with Central1 Forge Digital Banking Experience, especially its public website solution.
• Experience leading backend engineering for public websites in financial institutions, particularly credit unions.
