Cloud Systems Engineer – Clearance Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and enhance secure CI/CD pipelines within GitLab.

• Implement DevSecOps principles via automated vulnerability scanning and compliance checkpoints.

• Standardize deployment templates and pipeline processes.

• Oversee deployment, configuration, and scaling of ERP testing platforms, including Tricentis Tosca, qTest, NeoLoad, and LiveCompare.

• Manage and resolve issues in hybrid deployments across EKS containerized microservices and EC2 monolithic applications.

• Oversee and scale AWS infrastructure across EKS, EC2, S3, and RDS.

• Enforce cloud security measures, including IAM policies, VPC security, and least-privilege access.

• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for EKS and EC2 nodes.

• Diagnose environment-related failures and performance bottlenecks.

• Support a U.S. Army enterprise program along with mission-critical Army systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of focused experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Cloud/Systems Engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in managing production environments.

• Strong practical experience with AWS services.

• In-depth operational knowledge of EKS, Kubernetes deployments, service networking, and EC2 instance management.

• Proven expertise in building, securing, and maintaining intricate GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong skills in Python or Bash.

• Experience in integrating SAST/DAST, container scanning, and secret detection into CI/CD pipelines.

• Capability to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Ability to mentor junior team members and effectively interface with testing and QA engineering leads.

• Active Secret security clearance.

• Direct experience with ERP software testing tools is preferred.

• Solid experience with Terraform is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS RDS configuration, tuning, and migration is preferred.
