Cloud Security Engineer – AWS, GCP

📋 Description

• Conduct systems administration and maintenance tasks, including patch management, vulnerability scanning, compliance assessments, backups, and recovery for cloud workloads.

• Provide support for AWS and GCP environments, which encompass Windows and Linux virtual machines, container workloads, and various cloud services.

• Set up, update, and maintain security tools responsible for endpoint protection, log collection, vulnerability scanning, and compliance monitoring.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across network, compute, application, and identity layers by analyzing logs, gathering data, and assessing system behavior.

• Implement hardening measures and compliance controls in accordance with CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMP requirements.

• Address vulnerabilities identified by tools such as Tenable, Trivy, OpenSCAP, and others.

• Offer quality assurance feedback during system deployment processes.

• Collaborate with Security Analysts to guarantee uninterrupted security service delivery.

• Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, dataflow diagrams, SOPs, and configuration guides for security tools.

• Facilitate client communications, manage deliverables, and resolve issues effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of six (6) years of experience in IT engineering and/or cybersecurity.

• At least three (3) years of experience in a focused cloud security engineering role or a similar position.

• Practical experience with both AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Capability to diagnose and resolve issues across Linux and Windows systems, network infrastructure, and cloud services.

• General experience in systems administration and vulnerability management.

• Familiarity with working in a DevSecOps environment.

• Knowledge of ITSM ticketing systems such as GitLab (preferred), Jira, ServiceNow, etc.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: Splunk Enterprise, Tenable Security Center/Nessus, Invicti/Acunetix, Appgate, Okta, GitLab, Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, TrendMicro Deep Security, Trivy, Anchore, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
