Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage security measures within AWS cloud environments.

• Protect cloud workloads through effective identity management, monitoring, threat detection, and adherence to secure operational best practices.

• Create secure AWS architectures utilizing IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, Config, Sentry, and Datadog.

• Establish centralized logging, monitoring, alerting, threat modeling, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing methodologies.

• Ensure alignment of AWS environments with CIS Benchmarks, NIST, HIPAA, FedRAMP, and SOC 2 frameworks.

• Aid in incident detection, investigation, and response while preserving audit trails across AWS accounts and services.

• Automate security measures and compliance verification using Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Incorporate security into CI/CD pipelines and work alongside engineering teams to ensure secure build and deployment processes.

• Assist with deployment automation, build troubleshooting, release coordination, developer enablement, account transfers, deployment dry runs, and planning for cutover and rollback.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is mandatory.

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field; alternatively, four additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.

• At least 6 years of pertinent experience in cloud security, cybersecurity, and AWS security.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, Route 53, IAM, CloudTrail, Config, and KMS.

• Experience in supporting secure CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, build troubleshooting, release coordination, and developer enablement.

• Practical experience with GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, ArgoCD, Helm, Docker, secrets management, environment configuration, and Terraform templates.

• Competence in validating account handoffs, reviewing pipeline configurations, verifying secrets, aiding in deployment dry runs, and assisting with cutover and rollback plans.

• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex security, operational, and reliability issues.
