Cloud Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Strategize, plan, and carry out production deployments in collaboration with the engineering team of the client.

• Adjust to US working hours (afternoon/evening Romania time) during deployment periods to synchronize with the client on releases, change requests, and incident management.

• Serve as the primary operational contact between our team and the client throughout release cycles.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to deployment, networking, and infrastructure in production, escalating to the engineering team as necessary.

• Clearly convey deployment status, risks, and incidents to both client and internal teams.

• Enhance the deployment infrastructure and tools: CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, runbooks, observability, and automation.

• Engage in broader cloud and Kubernetes operations: cluster maintenance, networking, secret management, and improvements in cost and reliability.

• Contribute to the development of deployment processes and change management as the platform evolves.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in operations, DevOps, SRE, or similar hands-on infrastructure roles.

• Practical experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes: handling deployments, services, ingress, and debugging pods and workloads.

• Proficiency in Helm charts: interpreting, modifying, templating, and deploying them.

• Understanding of networking within cloud and Kubernetes environments: Load Balancers, Ingress controllers, NGINX, Istio, Cilium, Azure CNI.

• Experience with CI/CD using ArgoCD and GitLab CI.

• Scripting and coding skills in bash, Python, or Go.

• Strong Linux fundamentals: filesystem, CLI, and troubleshooting logs and processes.

• Excellent written and spoken English (essential: daily communication with the client).
