Cloud Infrastructure Cost Analyst – FinOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Evaluate cloud consumption and infrastructure expenditures to identify primary cost drivers across our platform.

• Create and sustain reports detailing infrastructure costs (e.g., usage of free vs paid tiers, POC environments, product-level expenses).

• Collaborate closely with the Cloud Engineering team to comprehend how architecture and resource utilization influence costs.

• Develop models to calculate costs per customer, feature, or workload.

• Project infrastructure spending based on usage patterns and forthcoming architectural changes.

• Discover opportunities for cost optimization (e.g., savings plans, resource sizing, usage trends).

• Construct internal dashboards and simple tools to make cloud cost data readily available to engineering, finance, and sales teams.

• Assist internal teams with data for pricing, deal structuring, and infrastructure planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Experience in analyzing extensive datasets and creating reports or dashboards.

• Familiarity with major public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and a fundamental understanding of infrastructure elements such as compute, load balancing, and serverless workloads.

• Ability to convert technical usage data into cost models, forecasts, or business insights.

• Comfortable collaborating with engineers and grasping how cloud architecture and resource usage impact costs.

• Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake or similar).

• Preferred: Experience in cloud cost analysis, FinOps, or infrastructure cost modeling.

• Background in cloud engineering, DevOps, or environments focused on infrastructure.

• Familiarity with cloud billing or cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Billing, etc.).

• Experience with forecasting, budgeting, or usage modeling.
