Cloud FinOps Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Act as the strategic link among Finance, IT, and engineering teams, promoting financial accountability and cost efficiency throughout our global cloud operations.

• Utilize data-driven insights and governance frameworks to enhance cloud investments, facilitate clear chargeback models, and support critical programs with scalable and economical solutions.

• Compile, standardize, and analyze multi-cloud consumption data (AWS, Azure, GCP) to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings.

• Create and sustain dashboards, scorecards, and executive-level reports concerning cloud expenditures, forecasting accuracy, and cost distribution.

• Collaborate with Finance and business unit leaders to set ongoing cloud budgets, consumption forecasts, and variance analyses.

• Enforce FinOps governance policies, tagging standards, and budget guardrails to ensure compliance with organizational financial controls.

• Design, implement, and continuously enhance chargeback and showback processes that allocate cloud expenses to product lines and projects, fostering ownership and accountability.

• Work alongside architecture and engineering teams to execute rightsizing, procure Reserved Instances/Savings Plans, strategize spot-instance usage, and automate shutdown schedules.

• Serve as the subject-matter expert to guide senior leadership on the financial implications of new services, migration strategies, and emerging technologies in the cloud.

• Conduct FinOps training workshops and collaborative sessions to integrate best practices across global technical teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud financial management, cost optimization, or FinOps within a large-scale, multi-cloud setting.

• Proficiency in cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing), FinOps platforms (e.g., CloudHealth, Apptio), and BI/reporting solutions (Power BI, Tableau).

• Strong financial acumen, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and P&L reconciliation.

• Proven ability to convert complex financial data into actionable insights and concise executive summaries.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, ARM templates), scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), and CI/CD pipelines to incorporate cost controls within DevOps workflows.

• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities for identifying cost anomalies, optimizing resource utilization, and reconciling billing issues.

• A keen interest in maximizing cloud ROI and aligning technology spending with organizational impact metrics.

• Proficient in collaborating with distributed teams to strike a balance between cost reduction and uninterrupted service provision and program outcomes.

• Outstanding stakeholder management skills, capable of promoting cross-functional alignment and nurturing a culture of ongoing cost optimization.

• Certifications (Preferred): FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation), Certified Cloud Practitioner (AWS/Azure/GCP), or equivalent.
