Cloud Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain intricate infrastructure and data systems on Google Cloud Platform for a global clientele.

• Partner with architects and teams to craft scalable and robust GCP infrastructure solutions.

• Execute Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or comparable tools.

• Incorporate DevOps practices and establish CI/CD pipelines.

• Implement security protocols and ensure adherence to GDPR, HIPAA, and other data privacy regulations.

• Design monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks.

• Create and manage backup and disaster recovery plans.

• Recognize and alleviate performance bottlenecks while optimizing infrastructure.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

• Document cloud architecture, configurations, and operational processes.

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, analysts, and software developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of practical experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.

• Comprehensive understanding of Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Networking, IAM, and Kubernetes.

• Required experience with Ansible.

• Background in deploying and optimizing BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, Firestore, Cloud Bigtable, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub.

• Skilled in Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience managing both Linux and Windows operating systems.

• Awareness of security best practices and compliance frameworks such as CIS, GDPR, and HIPAA.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Immediate availability is required.

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification is preferred.
