Cloud Engineer – AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable AWS cloud environments.

• Convert business and technical requirements into effective solutions for cloud architecture.

• Assist with cloud migration initiatives, including planning, data transfer, and refactoring workloads.

• Oversee and enhance AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, and CloudFormation.

• Monitor system performance to ensure high availability and reliability, aiming for 99.999% uptime.

• Enforce security controls, compliance frameworks, and monitoring solutions.

• Collaborate with developers and data engineers for the integration of applications and cloud services.

• Automate infrastructure and processes through scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Keep technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures up to date.

• Conduct system patching, upgrades, and ongoing monitoring.

• Aid in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.

• Participate in Agile development cycles, including planning, troubleshooting, and deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cloud engineering, systems administration, or cloud architecture.

• Practical experience with AWS GovCloud and key AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).

• Strong grasp of cloud security principles and compliance frameworks.

• Experience in cloud migration and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).

• Proficient in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, or similar).
