Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, operate, and sustain a highly available, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, covering compute, networking, storage, identity, and databases.

• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions (CloudFormation, Bicep, Terraform) to facilitate repeatable provisioning and configuration management across cloud environments.

• Construct and uphold CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows utilizing cloud-native tools (AWS Lambda, GitHub Actions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions) and scripting to reduce operational toil.

• Assist in the execution and testing of Disaster Recovery plans; aid in the automation of failover processes, the creation of DR runbooks, and the validation of recovery procedures.

• Oversee and enhance observability systems; contribute to AIOps initiatives and leverage AI applications—including AI-integrated tools and agent-based automation—to boost operational reliability.

• Collaborate with the security team to identify and address cloud vulnerabilities; adhere to and promote best practices in access controls, identity management, and network segmentation.

• Work alongside Technology Engineering, Development, and Product Management to devise and scale production systems; optimize cloud resource utilization for cost efficiency; engage in on-call rotations and incident response.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation and runbooks to ensure the infrastructure remains clear, manageable, and robust.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of practical cloud infrastructure experience on AWS and/or Azure—including compute, networking, storage, identity, and Infrastructure as Code—with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation, Bicep, ARM templates, and/or Terraform.

• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python for automation and operational tool development.

• Experience in Linux/Unix administration within a cloud setting.

• Familiarity with participating in Disaster Recovery implementation and testing; knowledge of failover architecture, RPO/RTO planning, and runbook documentation.

• Proven experience in building CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, AWS Lambda, Azure DevOps, Logic Apps, Functions, or similar tools.

• Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms like LogicMonitor, Grafana, or their equivalents.

• A solid understanding of cloud networking principles, including VPCs/VNets, subnets, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and identity/authorization systems (Entra ID, IAM, SAML).

• Familiarity with AI tools in an operational or engineering capacity (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or similar); a demonstrated interest in integrating AI into cloud operations scenarios.
