• Implement AWS cloud standards for infrastructure, networking, and software components, focusing on security, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
• Advance new technologies to proactively address the business's evolving needs.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications are optimized for deployment in an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environment, while meeting security and compliance standards.
• Maintain and support automation and deployment processes to enhance developer experience and efficiency.
• Assist in managing our IaC pattern libraries, enabling developers to easily build out their own environments.
• Facilitate monitoring and logging solutions that allow development teams to ensure their platforms are performing optimally.
• Foster developer autonomy and self-service by contributing to training and documentation for Platform products.
• Cultivate a supportive culture dedicated to constructing reliable systems and processes based on established best practices within the industry.
• Diagnose and resolve issues within AWS, focusing on security, performance, and scalability challenges.
• Uphold our security and compliance protocols to guarantee that AWS services adhere to regulatory standards.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for internal developer services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in AWS Cloud Services or developer experience tooling, including:
• At least three years of experience with specific AWS technologies, including PaaS offerings.
• A minimum of two years of experience with distributed systems.
• Proficient understanding of CI/CD processes and commercial tools such as GitLab and GitHub.
• Familiarity with Go, Python, or Bash programming languages.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Proficient in enabling and troubleshooting containerized workloads in ECS, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes.
• Experience collaborating with users of developer platforms to identify needs and opportunities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute during code reviews and document tasks effectively.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and a keen attention to detail.
• At least one associate-level AWS certification (or a commitment to obtain certification within six months of employment).
