This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the architecture for cloud-native data platforms, encompassing Lakehouse designs (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric) that facilitate reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Develop scalable data models that support enterprise systems, including ERP, financial, operational, and project management platforms.
• Spearhead modernization efforts for legacy data environments, focusing on migration strategies, data mapping/transformation, reconciliation, and production cutover.
• Create frameworks for real-time and near real-time data ingestion and processing, along with batch processing pipelines (ELT/ETL).
• Influence decisions related to storage, orchestration, data quality, reliability, and overall performance.
• Establish semantic data models that promote self-service analytics and consistent reporting, in collaboration with data governance, metadata management, and master data management (MDM) standards.
• Collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders across various functions to prioritize requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
• Ensure secure, governed access to data in partnership with Identity and Access Management (IAM) teams.
• Assess emerging technologies, including AI, to identify opportunities for integration within the data ecosystem and help define the long-term technical roadmap.
• Mentor junior architects and data management personnel, translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly terms for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or cloud data engineering.
• Practical experience designing and implementing cloud data solutions using Snowflake, Azure, AWS, and/or Databricks.
• Profound knowledge of distributed systems, data architecture, and contemporary cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture and platforms (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi).
• Proven track record in designing semantic data models for reporting and analytics at scale.
• Experience in leading or supporting large-scale data migrations, from discovery to cutover, and building systems from concept to production.
• Strong foundation in modern data warehousing, ELT/ETL processes, and cloud architecture best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, influence technical direction, and foster clarity among cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility to work remotely from home.
• Availability Monday through Friday (specific hours will vary based on client requirements).
