This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications based on Java on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Implement workflows for image capture, ingestion, processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution.
• Create and manage documented, versioned RESTful APIs while ensuring backward compatibility.
• Construct image-processing pipelines for validation, transformation, metadata extraction, indexing, retention, archival, and deletion.
• Implement AI-driven image functionalities such as classification, OCR/data extraction, redaction, quality checks, and similarity search.
• Diagnose defects in cloud applications, conduct root cause analysis, and apply preventative measures.
• Utilize secure coding practices, IAM/authorization, encryption, auditing, and data handling aligned with policies.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code utilizing DevOps methodologies.
• Enforce logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and operational runbooks.
• Work collaboratively with DevOps, QA, Product Management, and security teams.
• Engage in architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and shared standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Alternatively, four additional years of relevant work experience may substitute for a four-year degree.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in developing backend services and APIs using Java.
• Proficiency with Spring/Spring Boot or comparable frameworks.
• Practical experience in designing, deploying, and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with serverless and/or containerized solutions.
• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, including authentication/authorization and service integrations.
• Knowledge of image-centric workflows, object storage, transformation, and metadata management.
• Experience integrating AI functionalities such as computer vision/OCR, extraction, redaction, or search.
• Understanding of AI evaluation and monitoring concepts.
• Knowledge of IAM, least privilege practices, service accounts, secrets management, encryption, and audit logging.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, and Git-based workflows.
• Skills in cloud troubleshooting, defect triage, performance tuning, production support, and observability tools.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, QA, DevOps, product, and security teams.
• Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Required to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility.
• U.S. residency is necessary: candidates must have lived in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the required prior periods.
