Clinical Pharmacist – Specialty Pharmacy, Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver pharmacy services while ensuring the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders.

• Assess oncology medication orders and facilitate oral chemotherapy and anticancer workflows.

• Offer patient counseling and educational support.

• Respond to drug information inquiries.

• Perform patient outreach and follow-up activities.

• Confirm medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately in accordance with state and federal regulations.

• Thoroughly document services in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.

• Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing medication safety.

• Ensure pharmacy operations align with national accreditation standards.

• Guide staff to provide safe and efficient care.

• Foster professional working relationships with caregivers.

• Educate and mentor students, residents, caregivers, and/or patients.

• Work rotating 8-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

• Meet on-call responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must reside locally in Ohio.

• PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy college.

• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh), or eligibility for reciprocity in the current state within 90 days of hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross for those required to administer immunizations.

• Completion of a Board of Pharmacy-approved immunization administration course or certification within 90 days of hire for individuals required to administer immunizations.

• Capability to perform job duties while standing and walking for extended periods, approximately 75% of the shift.

• Manual dexterity for performing computer and dispensing tasks.

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

• Proficient in reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps, and sitting.

• Normal or corrected vision required.

• Strong communication skills, both by phone and in person.

• Willingness to comply with controlled-substance testing after receiving an employment offer.

• Must adhere to the annual influenza vaccination program or secure an approved exemption.

• Board certification is preferred.

• 1–2 years of experience in oncology pharmacy is preferred.

• Completion of a PGY1 residency, fellowship, or relevant postgraduate pharmacy experience is preferred.

• PGY2 residency or related experience is preferred for specialized pharmacy practice areas such as Oncology.
