This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design FHIR-compliant data models that adhere to implementation guides, profiles, and internal architectural standards.
• Create and implement strategies for data harmonization and enrichment across EHR, HIE, and claims data sources.
• Act as the subject matter expert on clinical ontologies including SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, and RxNorm.
• Define and update custom value sets tailored for specific clinical use cases.
• Develop validation frameworks and automated rules to ensure clinical accuracy, consistency, and the integrity of longitudinal data.
• Produce documentation that clearly articulates data design requirements for engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Facilitate patient care and research initiatives by providing accurate and practical clinical data.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Professional Certificate or Master’s Degree in Clinical Informatics or equivalent professional experience in a clinical informatics role.
• At least 5 years of experience in clinical informatics or data integration within Healthcare or Life Sciences sectors.
• Proven expertise in HL7 v2, FHIR, CDA/CCD-A, NCPDP, FHIR R4/R5, and OMOP.
• Advanced skills in Python and SQL.
• Eligible candidates must not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.
• Preferred: Practical experience with dbt, Jupyter Notebooks, and healthcare data integration.
• Preferred: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
