Clinical Documentation Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee and educate on the clinical documentation process

• Facilitate the hiring, training, management, development, and evaluation of personnel

• Work in conjunction with healthcare team members to pinpoint areas for improvement and devise solutions

• Monitor and ensure adherence to program compliance

• Collect, identify, and leverage data to aid in strategic development and enhancement activities related to case mix index, MS DRG, value-based purchasing reimbursement, quality/outcomes, and compliance mandates

• Supervise the review of physician documentation to validate patient levels of care and the correct assignment of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs)

• Create action plans aimed at improvement

⛳️ Requirements

• One or more of the following credentials: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA; Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC; Clinical Documentation Professional from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists; Registered Nurse credentialed by the Florida Board of Nursing; Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) from AHIMA; Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) from AHIMA

• CCS, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT must be obtained within 12 months (1 year) of the hire date or job transfer date when specified

• Clinical Documentation Professional credential and Registered Nurse credential must be acquired before the hire date or job transfer date

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of relevant cumulative job-specific experience required

• 3 years of leadership or management experience is preferred
