Clinical Director of Business Development, US East Coast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage an outbound pipeline targeting CROs and the Clinical Operations, Data Management, and Quality/Regulatory teams within pharma and biotech.

• Schedule meetings through proactive outbound prospecting instead of relying on inherited leads.

• Oversee the complete sales process from the initial conversation to multi-stakeholder evaluations and finalizing contracts.

• Navigate the purchasing committees that include Clinical Operations, Data Management, Quality, and IT/data governance.

• Represent Espresso Clinical at industry conferences such as DIA, SCOPE, and ACRP.

• Collaborate closely with the founder to define sales strategies, positioning, and go-to-market plans as the company's inaugural commercial hire.

• Incorporate market and buyer insights into the business to influence product development and packaging priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in sales targeting CROs, as well as pharma or biotech Clinical Operations, Data Management, or Quality/Regulatory sectors.

• Preferably, experience in selling solutions at an EDC, CTMS, eTMF, RBQM/central monitoring, or clinical data platform vendor.

• Proven track record as a new-logo hunter who cultivates a pipeline from cold outbound leads while also nurturing existing client relationships.

• Experience in being a first or second commercial hire at an early-stage company (from seed to Series B) is a plus.

• Ability to sell innovative, first-in-class solutions and services is desirable.

• Strong knowledge of GxP, ICH E6(R3), CAPA, protocol deviations, and central monitoring.

• Capability to engage and sell to stakeholders in CROs and pharma/biotech Clinical Operations, Data Management, Quality/Regulatory, and IT/data governance.
