Clinical Dietitian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Delivers prompt, evidence-based nutritional care and education to patients and their families.

• Engages in the training of medical personnel, dietetic interns, and colleagues.

• Addresses the needs of patients while promoting and ensuring the highest standards of nutritional care.

• Serves as a consultant/resource for all healthcare team members, acting as a liaison/ambassador between patients and foodservice staff.

• Conducts continuous nutritional assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and education for patients and their families.

• Designs and implements personalized nutrition care plans for patients throughout their lifespan, from infancy to old age.

• Incorporates evidence-based research into the education, practice, and management of patient care.

• Clearly communicates nutrition plans and their rationale to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is acceptable if certified by the Commission on Dietetics Registration for degrees awarded prior to 1/1/2024, along with completion of a one-year dietetic internship experience.

• A master's degree must be CEND certified for degrees awarded on or after 1/1/2024, and completion of a one-year dietetic internship experience is required.

• Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

• Clinical nutrition experience within a healthcare environment is preferred.

• Strong communication skills are essential.

• Must be capable of working independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary medical practice.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency is required.

• Registry eligibility by the Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire is mandatory.

• Must obtain RD - Registered Dietitian status within 9 months of hire.
