Clinical Contracts Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the management of clinical study contracts and budgets.

• Collaborate with the relevant project team, legal department, and sponsors to ensure effective contract management throughout the project lifecycle.

• Strategically plan, initiate, and negotiate contracts and budgets directly with study sites and physicians when necessary.

• Supervise third-party vendors who handle clinical contract negotiations on behalf of UBC.

• Act as the main operational contracts contact for assigned studies.

• Manage the preparation and negotiation of contracts, including the development of templates, documentation of contract template approvals and revisions, signature processes, status tracking and reporting, as well as the scanning, filing, and archiving of original agreements.

• Engage directly with sponsor project management and legal teams to create investigator grants/budgets and confidentiality agreements while adhering to UBC and sponsor legal and financial guidelines.

• Participate in study team meetings, teleconferences, kick-off meetings, and investigator meetings as needed.

• Appropriately escalate any UBC risks associated with study agreements, investigator payments, and other operational vendor contracts.

• Maintain a repository of operational contract templates, along with country-specific budgets, requirements, and timelines, and provide this information to project teams as required.

• Monitor changes for potential impacts on templates.

• Keep a repository of approved fallback language and apply it appropriately during the negotiation process to expedite closure.

• Contribute to and/or lead enhancements to contract tracking tools, metrics reporting, operational effectiveness, and investigator payment administration.

• Provide leadership and guidance, including training, to project staff (both internal and third-party vendor staff) in their communications with investigative site personnel regarding investigator agreements and budgets to foster cooperative and effective communication between sites and UBC.

• Facilitate requests for pricing and narratives related to operational contract management and investigator payments for RFI/RFPs, client presentations, or other UBC business needs.

• Approximately 10% travel required.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree; Graduate Degree preferred.

• Two to three years’ experience in initiating, negotiating, and executing legal and financial agreements.

• Three to five years’ experience in a clinical trials environment within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.

• High proficiency in Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications.

• Ability to manage effectively in a multicultural matrix environment.

• Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to juggle multiple priorities and take on new initiatives to support rapid growth.
