Clinical Applications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver clinical and technical assistance to clients within a designated territory.

• Conduct on-site clinical applications training and manage customer appointments, travel, training schedules, and follow-up support.

• Work collaboratively with Account Managers, Field Service Engineers, and internal teams to meet customer requirements and resolve clinical and technical challenges.

• Assist with the installation, configuration, and deployment of ZEISS equipment, digital products, and connectivity solutions.

• Execute data transfers, system integrations, site evaluations, and troubleshooting.

• Offer clinical and technical assistance to surgeons in the Operating Room during surgical operations.

• Serve as a liaison between clients and ZEISS, coordinating internal resources for prompt inquiry resolution.

• Keep abreast of product and technology advancements while providing continuous customer education and support.

• Recognize and relay potential sales opportunities to the Account Management team.

• Adjust to territory realignment as necessary.

• Maintain CRM, training documentation, CPOs, and expense reports following ZEISS protocols, GMP, ISO 9001, and relevant regulations.

• Set up and instruct on ZEISS equipment at conventions and seminars.

• Undertake additional projects assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, ideally in engineering or life sciences.

• Familiarity with the diagnostic and surgical ophthalmology sector, including relevant capital equipment, is advantageous.

• A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in ophthalmology clinical and Operating Room settings or in the diagnostic ophthalmology field, or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Proficiency in French is a plus.

• Demonstrated experience in implementing and configuring networking devices such as routers, switches, and access points.

• Knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, VLAN, and DNS.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to engage with clients in challenging scenarios.

• Ability to adhere to standard practices and procedures when analyzing data or situations.

• Willingness to travel overnight and work on occasional weekends.

• Highly organized and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Must be comfortable working in operating room settings and providing support during surgical procedures in line with hospital protocols and safety standards.

• Capacity to thrive in a multicultural business environment.

• Ability to lift and/or transport products weighing up to 80 lbs.

• Willingness to travel on weekends and holidays, including both domestic and international travel, up to 80% of the time.
