This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Oversee a small, agile team operating nationwide across Brazil.
• Direct the team's efforts in supporting and engaging members, attracting new members, and enhancing their involvement in climate, energy, procurement, and waste initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Board Chair and the Board to formulate PHS's annual strategies and work plans.
• Work closely with the Board Chair to devise strategies and tactics for the growth of PHS.
• Engage and coordinate with the HCWH International team, ensuring consistent communication and strategic alignment with HCWH's global and regional teams, and partner with HCWH's global climate team.
• Spearhead the execution of PHS's climate strategy, the development and expansion of the Health Care Climate Challenge, the energy challenge, and programmatic connections with the procurement program, GGHH, and other global initiatives.
• Monitor and ensure the alignment of PHS strategy with HCWH's global climate strategy.
• Manage PHS plans and budgets, overseeing their successful execution while ensuring the effective use of resources and timely reporting to donors.
• Supervise the administrative assistant and support administrative and financial management and audits, under the guidance of the treasurer and the Board Chair.
• Drive PHS initiatives to incorporate healthcare into climate policy and integrate climate considerations into health policy in Brazil.
• Extensive management experience, with a minimum of 3 years leading small, dynamic teams.
• Expertise in Climate Change and/or environmental health.
• In-depth knowledge of climate issues: current discussions, mitigation strategies, NDCs, and initiatives at both local and national levels in Brazil.
• Familiarity with greenhouse gas emissions calculation methodologies and inventories.
• Understanding of the intersection between climate and health.
• Experience working within or alongside the health sector.
• Demonstrated ability to engage teams in participatory decision-making, creatively address challenges, and inspire staff.
• Proficient in communicating and negotiating with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of budget planning and execution.
• Experience in organizing events and public conferences.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
• Ability to proactively seek and provide feedback, along with strong emotional intelligence.
• Capacity to work effectively and collaboratively with others to achieve shared objectives in a decentralized team.
• Skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, with timely follow-up on issues.
