This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Lead the expansion of Apex’s infrastructure services within your assigned local market.
• Formulate and implement a strategic plan to strengthen relationships with municipal, utility, and public-sector clients.
• Utilize existing client connections and your market knowledge to position Apex as a reliable regional partner.
• Collaborate with Divisional and Regional Leadership to synchronize local initiatives with Apex’s overall infrastructure strategy.
• Act as a trusted advisor to municipal and utility clients, grasping their infrastructure priorities and funding mechanisms.
• Identify and seek out new project opportunities, oversee proposal development, and manage interview and negotiation processes.
• Promote cross-selling of Apex’s complementary environmental, construction, and compliance services.
• Represent Apex at professional associations, technical committees, and industry conferences.
• Supervise the delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment, distribution/collection systems, stormwater management, transportation, or civil engineering.
• Ensure technical excellence, quality control, and compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and QA/QC oversight to project teams.
• Manage project performance, including backlog, utilization, and profitability metrics.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers, project managers, and technical staff to enhance Apex’s local presence.
• Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance culture centered on client satisfaction and technical excellence.
• BS or MS Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Over 15 years of experience in municipal infrastructure.
• Registered Professional Engineer preferred in MA, CT, or NH.
• Proven success in developing new markets, securing key municipal clients, and meeting financial growth targets.
• Strong history of mentoring, team development, and leading cross-disciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients in a forward-thinking manner to drive growth and sustained performance through effective leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong desire to manage and mentor staff at all levels.
