This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire.
• Take ownership of the monthly and quarterly closing processes for a designated portfolio of clients, encompassing bank and credit card reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and journal entries.
• Prepare and review compiled financial statements along with management reporting packages.
• Oversee payroll processing, sales and use tax filings, and 1099 reporting prepared by the team.
• Act as the primary daily contact for client owners, controllers, and office personnel.
• Lead the onboarding process for new client accounting engagements, including the design of chart of accounts, software conversion, and documentation of recurring procedures.
• Collaborate with the tax team to ensure the delivery of accurate year-end financials and supporting workpapers.
• Identify and implement enhancements in processes and technology that minimize manual tasks across the client portfolio.
• Manage a portfolio of client relationships and review the work performed by supporting accountants.
• Serve as the escalation point for any accounting discrepancies.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in client accounting, bookkeeping, or outsourced accounting, particularly in a public accounting or multi-client setting.
• Solid understanding of GAAP as it pertains to closely held businesses.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the discernment to recognize when an issue requires escalation.
• A strong sense of integrity within a professional environment.
• Previous experience in supervising, reviewing, or training accounting staff is advantageous.
• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess and cloud accounting workflow tools is preferred.
• Experience with payroll platforms and compliance with multi-state sales tax regulations is preferred.
• An active CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
