Class 4 Power Engineer – Diavik

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Operate, monitor, start, and shut down boilers and auxiliary systems safely, including HVAC and refrigeration.

• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.

• Troubleshoot problems and perform repairs, such as replacing valves, gauges, and filters using hand and power tools.

• Carry out daily boiler water testing, analyze the results, and modify chemical treatments to preserve system integrity.

• Continuously observe gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure peak performance.

• Keep precise operational logs and service records.

• Assist in lockout/tagout procedures and prepare equipment for inspections.

• Respond promptly and effectively to system alarms or operational concerns.

• Maintain stringent safety standards and adhere to regulatory compliance at all times.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a valid Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate of Competency (or equivalent).

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

• Experience in maintenance within an industrial or remote environment (mining experience is a plus).

• Ability to collaborate respectfully within a multi-disciplinary team.

• Solid knowledge of boiler operations, water treatment, and safety protocols.

• Capable of working in Arctic conditions and physically demanding settings.

• Strong commitment to safe work practices—no compromises.

• Nice to Have: Experience in remote or fly-in/fly-out operations.

• Familiarity with computerized building or plant control systems.

• Proficiency in the Tłı̨chǫ language is an asset.
