This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and manage a team of 4 General Liability adjusters responsible for Premise, Habitational, Risk Transfer, Construction, and New York Labor Law claims.
• Take ownership of the performance and well-being of the dedicated account, ensuring quality, efficiency, outcomes, and maintaining the client relationship.
• Assess reserves, coverage positions, and settlement strategies; approve decisions or escalate as needed within your authority.
• Directly manage escalations and the most intricate, high-exposure litigated cases.
• Conduct quality assurance and file reviews; coach team members on identified gaps to elevate overall performance.
• Act as the main claims contact for the client, addressing reporting, trends, and providing program-level recommendations.
• Guide outside counsel and investigative vendors on significant issues.
• Develop and refine claims guidelines, best practices, and process enhancements for the account, influencing the broader claims organization.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and continuous development of the team.
• At least 5 years of General Liability claims experience, including handling complex litigated third-party bodily injury and property damage cases.
• Previous experience as a team lead, supervisor, or in a formal mentorship/quality assurance role is highly preferred.
• Strong skills in policy interpretation: Reservation of Rights letters, coverage declinations, and coverage analysis.
• Active adjuster license: resident-state license where applicable, or a Designated Home State (DHS) license.
• Willingness to obtain any additional necessary licenses within 60 days, including completing state testing.
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment regarding reserves, authority, and settlement strategies on high-exposure claims.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the industry.
• JD or professional insurance designations are advantageous.
• Openness to travel for client and claims requirements.
