This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct investigations and resolve liability, first-party, and third-party claims.
• Initiate inquiries for new claims.
• Make determinations regarding liability and coverage.
• Assess and negotiate settlements for collision, specified perils, property damage, and liability losses.
• Supervise and manage external adjusters, appraisers, and experts.
• Establish communication with insured parties and claimants following established protocols.
• Identify coverage concerns and escalate them to the supervisor.
• Apply principles of liability and coverage as well as state-specific laws and regulations related to claims.
• Research market values for automobiles and heavy equipment to suggest total-loss settlement amounts.
• Summarize claims and recommend actions for claims that exceed settlement authority.
• Participate in intercompany arbitration hearings and address complaints from the department of insurance.
• Maintain a diary system to review and manage claims in accordance with state compliance standards.
• Sustain state licensing through ongoing education and/or pursuit of a claims designation.
• Manage small claim lawsuits as necessary.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned by the claims supervisor.
• 2-5 years of experience in auto physical damage, inland marine cargo, dealers' open lot, property damage (both commercial and homeowners), and/or general liability.
• High School Diploma or its Equivalent is mandatory.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s of London is an advantage.
• Must be a resident of the US.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Xactimate is required.
• Must be capable of obtaining licenses in necessary states and countries.
• AIC designation is preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Strong writing abilities and correct grammar usage are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle a high volume of concurrent responsibilities.
• Capacity to plan and maintain conscious control over time allocated to activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues both within and outside the organization.
• Opportunities for continuing education and/or pursuing a claims designation to uphold state licensing.
