Claims Examiner, Commercial Trucking – Bodily Injury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Analyze and manage intricate auto and commercial transportation claims by evaluating coverage, conducting investigations, establishing liability, and assessing the extent of damages.

• Handle complex auto, commercial, and personal line claims, including bodily injury, ensuring that claim files are thoroughly documented and accurately coded.

• Oversee the litigation process for claims that are in litigation.

• Manage vendor coordination, which includes collaborating with independent adjusters to support the claims investigation.

• Report significant claims to excess carriers.

• Create and uphold action plans to guarantee compliance with state-required contact deadlines and facilitate timely and suitable resolution of the files.

• Identify and pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities; secure and manage salvage disposals.

• Communicate claim actions and processing updates with insured individuals, clients, and agents or brokers when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of claims management experience or a relevant combination of education and experience, including comprehensive knowledge of personal and commercial auto policies, coverages, principles, and regulations.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• Obtain and maintain the necessary state adjusting licenses for the role.

• In-depth understanding of personal and commercial auto policies, coverages, principles, and laws.

• Knowledge of medical terminology for claim assessment and Medicare compliance.

• Familiarity with the appropriate application of deductibles, sub-limits, SIRs, carriers, and large deductible programs.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present effectively.

• Proficient in PC use, including Microsoft Office applications.
