This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.
• Evaluate and compile a summary of the veteran’s claims file, which encompasses both previous and current VA decisions.
• Assess medical evidence thoroughly.
• Examine VA laws and regulations.
• Identify any legal errors made by the Regional Office and/or Veteran Law Judge to formulate the brief.
• Review medical records, applications on file, and the claim’s agent medical development profile.
• Choose the relevant disability benefit questionnaires and distribute them to the appropriate provider based on the claimant’s medical conditions.
• Aid claimants in drafting lay statements, independent medical opinion request letters, and case summaries for medical consultants.
• Recognize and send the correct VA disability benefit questionnaires.
• Execute tasks in a timely and precise manner.
• Uphold technical expertise regarding all VA programs and procedures.
• Provide mentorship to peers and offer support to staff.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the capacity to learn and implement technical instructions.
• A minimum of two years of experience handling Veteran's disability claims is necessary.
• Proficient oral and telephone communication skills are required.
• Exceptional organizational abilities are essential.
• A high level of initiative is expected.
• Extensive knowledge of Word and Excel is important.
