Claims Advisor, Professional Liability – Medical Malpractice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Evaluate intricate or technically challenging medical malpractice claims

• Deliver resolutions for highly complicated and/or severe injury claims

• Strategically and proactively oversee a complex inventory of claims

• Analyze intricate claims issues and apply jurisdictional knowledge for oversight

• Guide claim management to secure the most favorable outcomes

• Serve as the organizational expert on complex claim matters

• Assess exposure utilizing comprehensive knowledge of claims processing

• Suggest and implement action plans for issue or case resolution

• Produce and document clear and concise notes in files

• Lead roundtable discussions with groups and teams

• Engage necessary internal and external resources as required

• Offer technical guidance and co-manage complex claim issues

• Contribute to the organization's quality initiatives

• Execute additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in managing complex claims

• Background in negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or handling higher-value complex claims

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred

• Necessary licenses as mandated

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred

• Proficient computer keyboarding skills

• Ability to hear, see, and speak

• Capability for clear and conceptual thinking

• Exceptional judgment and discretion

• Ability to meet deadlines
