
Civil/Structural Engineering Manager – Electrical Substations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee direct reports, sub-disciplines, and contractors in the Civil Engineering field.
• Provide guidance and direction to lead civil engineers during the project initiation phase and throughout project execution.
• Responsible for the effective allocation of civil engineering resources necessary for project execution.
• Identify, review, and approve design subcontractors to align resources with workload plans, optimizing the design budget.
• Establish quality procedures and processes aimed at enhancing engineering efficiency.
• Assist the proposal team with resources, technical validation, engineering work scope, and labor hours assessments.
• Prepare subcontracting bid packages and evaluate design subcontractor deliverables and performance.
• Ensure adherence to quality procedures set at both the project and regional levels, supporting internal and external audits.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in high voltage substation civil/structural design, including EPC projects.
• At least 5 years of experience leading a civil engineering team focused on substations.
• Possession of a Professional Engineering License in the United States with a commitment to review and seal drawings.
• Willingness to travel 20% of the time, including internationally, while adhering to all relevant company travel and tax policies.
• A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience managing civil engineers, encompassing resource loading, performance evaluations, recruitment/hiring, training/development plans, and salary planning is preferred.
• More than 15 years of experience in civil structural design and execution of high-voltage substation EPC projects, including the design of equipment foundations and related structures is preferred.
• Project Management experience in power systems EPC projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with Substation 3D design, including BIM (Revit) models, is preferred.
• Experience in technical problem-solving is preferred.
