This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Analyze a comprehensive array of civil engineering plans, calculations, and supporting documentation to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Evaluate site development proposals, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadway enhancements, and erosion control strategies.
• Review floodplain development applications for compliance with FEMA standards, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and relevant local floodplain ordinances.
• Assess elevation certificates, no-rise certifications, hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) studies, and applications for floodplain development permits.
• Confirm that plans align with established codes, municipal standards, and recognized engineering practices.
• Produce clear and precise review comments and necessary corrections via the VertexPlans platform.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, contractors, and municipal personnel (including floodplain administrators) to address review comments.
• Utilize VertexPlans for effective project tracking, documentation, communication, and report submission.
• Consistently achieve established turnaround times while upholding high standards of accuracy and quality.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
• An active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
• Must be available to work part-time on an as-needed basis remotely (no guaranteed minimum hours).
• Strong technical expertise in civil engineering principles related to site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and infrastructure is essential.
• Texas Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in conducting civil and floodplain plan reviews for municipalities is preferred.
• Familiarity with FEMA floodplain regulations, the National Flood Insurance Program, and local floodplain ordinance administration is necessary.
