Civil Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create realistic civil engineering scenarios that focus on major infrastructure and construction initiatives.

• Develop tasks that encompass intricate design cycles, permitting, regulatory evaluation, and construction execution.

• Integrate stakeholder needs, safety measures, environmental considerations, and project limitations.

• Construct engineering tasks related to structural, transportation, highway, water resources, environmental, and geotechnical fields.

• Implement structural load analysis, geotechnical site evaluations, and hydrology or hydraulic modeling as applicable.

• Generate reference engineering calculations, design schematics, and technical recommendations.

• Analyze practical engineering trade-offs and project constraints.

• Create scenarios that utilize engineering tools and enterprise project management workflows.

• Employ relevant U.S. and international engineering standards.

• Draft reference documents and comprehensive evaluation rubrics.

• Evaluate technical accuracy, feasibility, safety, compliance, and project delivery aspects.

• Produce technical narratives suitable for regulatory, stakeholder, and project management scenarios.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering.

• Background with a leading engineering consultancy, construction firm, infrastructure organization, or public agency.

• Direct involvement in significant infrastructure designs, permitting procedures, or construction projects.

• Proficiency in structural, transportation, geotechnical, water resources, environmental, or construction engineering.

• Strong grasp of engineering standards, regulatory approvals, and public sector oversight.

• Experience in multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder engineering projects.

• Exceptional technical writing, analytical thinking, and professional judgment skills.

• A degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field is highly relevant.

• Advanced engineering education may enhance your application.

• Professional engineering certifications such as PE, CEng, EUR ING, or P.Eng are highly preferred.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or HEC-RAS is advantageous.

• Knowledge of structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, or transportation modeling is a plus.

• Experience with ASCE, ACI, AISC, or AASHTO standards is beneficial.

• Understanding of Eurocodes or ISO engineering standards is appreciated.

• Familiarity with NEPA or international environmental review processes is a plus.

• Knowledge of permitting or regulatory approval processes is beneficial.

• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering reviews is a plus.

• Previous experience in engineering documentation, training material, or structured rubric writing is advantageous.
